  Paul’s second missionary journey was unique in many ways. Paul began his journey from Antioch along with Silas. He went through Derbe and Timothy joined him at Lystra. They together journeyed through Phrygia and Galatia. The Holy Spirit forbid them to speak a word in Asia. They came to Mysia and attempted to go to Bithynia but the Spirit would not let them be. So they reached Troas and camped there. In the night Paul had a vision. A man of Macedonia was standing there urging him to come to Macedonia and help.   Vision was a confirmation for Paul. From Troas, Paul and team set sail to Samothrace, Neapolis and finally to Philippi, a Macedonian city named after the father of Alexander the great. How an arduous journey from Antioch to Macedonia it would have been? Why did the Holy Spirit insist them to go to Macedonia? A great agenda did not greet them in Macedonia.   Mind is a bridge between flesh and Spirit. It is important to understand this to gain an insight into many Biblical Truths. Mind chooses to be either with the flesh or the Spirit of God out of its free will. The flesh is best impacted when the mind chooses to be with the Spirit of Jesus. This could be best explained through the model of a weighing balance. Let’s imagine that we have placed the flesh, mind and Spirit on a weighing balance with flesh of the left and and the Sprit on the right. The mind is placed in the middle. Here the balance would be even as the weights are spread equally on both sides. Case 1 (Mind is with the Spirit)   Here Mind (10) + Spirit (10) = Flesh (20) When mind chooses to be with the Spirit of Jesus, the flesh manifests the fruits of the Spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22).   Faith is trusting Jesus, Fear is trusting satan Fear is the opposite of faith. Jesus said, Fear not, only believe (Mark 5:36). This   just proves it. Faith comes from believing the Words of Jesus (Truth) and fear from believing the lies of satan. Why there is fear when you believe in satan? Satan approached Eve in the garden of Eden to suggest that she could equal God if she eats of the tree of knowledge of good and evil which was forbidden by God. She and Adam ate it and instantly fell from God’s favor. The very first promise of satan to mankind turned out to be the greatest lie.  When God came to walk on the garden he called out, where are you? Adam and Eve cowered behind the trees. He fretfully replied, “I hear the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid” (Gen 3:10). The maiden expression of the first man turned out to be a statement of fear in human history. Trusting satan resulted in fear.  Similarly trust in Jesus results in faith. Years later...

  There has been a lot of conflict between Science and Christianity historically. Why do they clash? Are they contradictory to each other? Or can they coexist? Bible says that human being has a Body, Soul and Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23).   Science deals with the physical aspect of life. It is in the pursuit of finding laws that govern the physical world. Be it an atom, molecule, force or heat, they are of the physical world. They are tangible, quantifiable and measurable. They are what we see, feel, smell, taste or hear. Therefore distance is measured in Meter and force in Newton. Heat is quantified in Joules as well as Energy. Soul is beyond the scope of Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology or even Mathematics). Fear or faith has no physical unit attached to it. There is no unit of will power either. There are no global standards of happiness. Faith cannot be captured in a test tube and put to test. In the beginning God created heavens and the earth. Heavenly bodies filled the universe and earth held a special place among this multitude. The earth was without any form and empty. Darkness stole into this emptiness and nothing was visible. Vapors began to bundle together and turned into a huge mass of water body under the cover of the darkness. The Spirit of God was hovering in the thin air over the waters, to bring forth life on earth for God who is Spirit wanted to create man, his child, in flesh, in his own likeness, the crown of all creations. God looked at the earth through the bright windows of heaven and saw that it was dark. He knew that darkness was not a creation of him. It is mere absence of light. He declared,  “let there be light” and glory of God began to dawn upon the earth. The light began to dispel the darkness out of its place and earth began to brighten up.
