Faith is trusting Jesus, Fear is trusting satan


Fear is the opposite of faith.

Jesus said, Fear not, only believe (Mark 5:36). This  just proves it.

Faith comes from believing the Words of Jesus (Truth) and fear from believing the lies of satan. Why there is fear when you believe in satan?

Satan approached Eve in the garden of Eden to suggest that she could equal God if she eats of the tree of knowledge of good and evil which was forbidden by God. She and Adam ate it and instantly fell from God’s favor. The very first promise of satan to mankind turned out to be the greatest lie. 

When God came to walk on the garden he called out, where are you? Adam and Eve cowered behind the trees. He fretfully replied, “I hear the sound of you in the garden and I was afraid” (Gen 3:10). The maiden expression of the first man turned out to be a statement of fear in human history. Trusting satan resulted in fear. Similarly trust in Jesus results in faith.

Years later when Jesus was with his disciples In the boat on a stormy sea, he said to them, Why are you afraid, have you no faith? (Mark 4:40)

Faith can move mountains (overcome obstacles). Fear makes things unconquerable. Faith turns you into an overcomer and fear makes you surrender. Fear is so rampant in the world because people are more focused on the words of satan. To cite examples, he would suggest life through an addiction to let you perish or death in case of sickness when you can surely gain healing through faith in Jesus. Millions believe in him still and live in fear. It kills many more people than guns, tsunamis and hurricanes. Trusting satan rather traps you in fear.

We can overcome fear by focusing on the words of Jesus. Contemplate over them, ponder and reflect over its contents. Claim and apply them over your life while you read them slow. Absorb those truths and allow them to percolate into your heart to let the very truth set you free from the bondage of fear.

Jesus said

  • ·         I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10)
  • ·         I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness (John 8:12)
  • ·         Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life (John 6:54)
  • ·         I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me shall not hunger and whoever believes  
               in me shall never thirst (John 6:35)
  • ·         Rise and have no fear (Math 17:7)
  • ·         I am with you till the end of the age (Math 28:20)
  • ·         Whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith (Math 21:22)
  • ·         Do not be afraid (Math 28:10)
  • ·         Take heart, I have overcome the world (John 16:33)

Now faith is on and fear is gone!!!

Theory Vs Truth

  Science is full of theories. Dictionary defines theory as an explanation of how things work. To cite an example, the famous chemist Dalton  said in his theory of atoms that an atom is indivisible. That was Dalton's explanation of an atom.  Today this theory is taken out of the text books. An atom is considered to be having subatomic particles. This theory would hold till it is proven otherwise.  So a theory may or may not be true and is expected to lead us to the truth.   Lets look at some of the famous theories such as   Theory of gravity, Theory of relativity, Theory of evolution...and so forth. We do not call them the truth of gravity, truth of relativity or truth of evolution. Answer to the famous query of Jesus, which is easier, to heal the sick or forgive the sins?

  One of those days, Jesus was preaching. A great crowd surrounded the house where he preached from. The pharisees and teachers of the law came from far and wide to hear him, even from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal (Luke 5:17). Suddenly four men lowered a paralyzed man through the roof and landed him in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said, "Man, your sins are forgiven." The scribes and the teachers of the law were shocked to the core. According to them, sins could only be forgiven by God and one could obtain it only by sacrificing an animal as a sin offering in the temple. The paralyzed man had not even moved a finger to secure his forgiveness. So they declared this act of Jesus as sheer blasphemy.
