Believer's Victory

When God placed Adam in the garden of Eden, he was designed to live in absolute victory. Why would God who is full of love create an earth and allow his children to live in defeat? He authorized him to subdue and reign. He ate from the bounties of Eden, played with the animals, swam in the streams, and enjoyed the companionship of Eve and an unceasing communion with the Father. He lived in utmost freedom and utmost victory. Slavery and defeat were unknown to him.

He lost his authority the moment he submitted to satan and was driven out of the garden. Instead of living by God’s Word in God’s world, he had to live by his own sweat (Gen 3:19). Instead of relishing the golden bounties of Eden, he had to till the land for his living. Toil took a toll of his life.  Fatigue, and stress came into his life. Poverty and lack followed as his sweat could not suffice. He lost his mastery over life, lost his divine health and sickness stole into his flesh. Pain became his partner. For Adam and his children, it was a great fall from utter victory to utter defeat.

The story does not end here. When Jesus came to earth, he spoke about the Kingdom of God. This marks the beginning of the return of the believer to Eden. Jesus went about doing good (Acts 10:38). He began to restore, retrieve, repair, and recover the earth that was lost to satan through the people who submitted to him. He began to heal the sick, raise the dead, restore sight, and feed the hungry. He took away sins of the believer, rather handed back the victory and freedom Adam enjoyed in Eden. Jesus said, “Now is the judgment of this world; now will the ruler of this world be cast out (John 12:31). Once again, the believer has the choice of living by the Word or Spirit of God like Adam could. He can now live under the shelter of the Almighty and abide in the shadow of the Almighty (Ps 91:1) like Adam could.

Before Jesus departed, he delegated the authority given to him to the believers. Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit” (Math 28:18,19). Now the believer can live in the Kingdom of God in full power and love of God and continue to win people into the Kingdom and continue to destroy the satanic kingdom. God has handed the Adamic authority back to the believer. Outside the Kingdom of God, satan still rules because the people still submit to him. But the good news is that his sphere of influence remains only within the fallen world. Now believers can live in absolute victory if they stay within the Kingdom of God.

The story does not end even here. God has still bigger plans for his believers for the future. With the second coming of Jesus, satan would be chained and bound forever. The new heaven and earth would be established where sin, sorrow, sickness and even temptation to sin would be fully eliminated. This would be the final and the perfect victory for believers.

This victory would remain timeless!!!!!
