Righteousness through Jesus – A mathematical representation
Can man earn the favor of God through good works ? If it could, why did God had to send his son on the earth to redeem man?
This could be explained using the principles of mathematics.
However, ∞ - 10 = ∞. So, the distance remains ∞ even after
moving by 10 units to the right as per the definition of
Another person decides to do 1000 units of good work and moves to point 1000.
However, ∞ - 1000 = ∞. So the distance remains ∞.
This shows
that a person must do infinite amounts of good works to get close to God. But a
finite man in his finite life can never achieve this. So mathematically a
person can never reach God by good works.
However, God
the Father has solved this problem for mankind.
“For by
works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight,
since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart
from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it the
righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For
there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a
propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's
righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed
over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present
time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in
Jesus.”
When you
accept Jesus, you become righteous through your faith in Jesus before God, because the value of
faith in Jesus carries a score of ∞.
Mathematically
speaking,
0 + ∞ = ∞
Would you lose this position because of sins? What happens when a righteous person commits 10 units of sin?
∞ - 10 = is
still ∞. Though he moves away from God by 10 units, he remains
in the infinite realm. So a righteous person cannot lose his or her righteous position because of few sins.
He or She can lose
this position only by rejection of Jesus whereby he loses the score of ∞ and falls back to the a position which is indeterminable for
∞ - ∞ = Indeterminate
While God pardon all sins, sin of rejection of Jesus has no remedy. In other words, rejection of Jesus remains the worst of all sins rather the only unpardonable sin.

though tools of reasoning could be used to explain it.
